Two new books: Practical Amazon/Shopify Offer Management
Do you sell on Amazon or run a Shopify store, and want to set prices, plan promotions and manage inventory so that margin grows, not just sales? Two new books answer that question — one for each platform:
• Practical Amazon Offer Management — Price, Promotions, Inventory and Compliance for Sellers in the US and Europe
• Practical Shopify Offer Management — Pricing, Promotions and Assortment Strategies for Shopify Stores
Both are 2026 editions, and both are available on Amazon now.
One method, two platforms
In 2025 I published Practical Pricing Strategies for eCommerce, a book on pricing for a store you control end to end. The new books take those methods to two platforms that put a seller in very different positions.
On Amazon you share the product page with competitors, and the Buy Box algorithm decides who makes the sale. The platform polices your prices in both directions and charges you for holding too much stock and for holding too little. On Shopify you control everything: the catalogue, the prices, the discounts and the product page. But the platform will not tell you what a product should cost, or what to do when it stops selling. That is why these are two separate books.
Practical Amazon Offer Management

Practical Amazon Offer Management
32 chapters in five parts, current to September 2026, 298 sources. For third-party sellers (FBA and seller-fulfilled), brands and pricing managers who are accountable for margin on Amazon in the US and Europe.
You will learn how to:
• set a price floor from Amazon’s 2026 fees — separately for the US and each European store, with VAT and fee bands;
• understand how the Buy Box is awarded in 2026, and why the delivery promise can outweigh a price cut;
• raise prices in small steps so that Amazon does not take the offer off the page;
• keep inventory in the safe corridor between the low-inventory fee and the aged-inventory surcharges;
• configure Automate Pricing as a universal rule, and judge when a paid repricer pays off;
• plan deals and Prime Day so that an April coupon does not block a June promotion;
• prepare your pricing policy for decisions by regulators in Germany, Brussels and Washington.
Practical Shopify Offer Management

Practical Shopify Offer Management
41 chapters in ten parts, platform facts checked in October 2026. A book about strategy, not admin screenshots — for store owners and anyone who manages the offer on Shopify.
You will learn how to:
• choose a starting strategy from four scenarios, depending on whether your products are unique and whether you know competitor prices;
• set three price floors: for the regular price, for discounts and for stock you want to clear;
• build the assortment, variants and product pages before you start changing prices;
• test pricing rules and raise prices safely;
• design discounts, compare-at prices that comply with the EU 30-day rule, bundles and cross-selling;
• manage inventory turnover, the product lifecycle and markdowns;
• scale the offer through Shopify Markets, B2B and multiple sales channels.
Every practical chapter ends with an “In practice” table: when to use the method, the data it needs, where that data is in Shopify, the decision rule, the guardrails and what to measure afterwards.
What sets both books apart
• Sources, not promises. Every claim carries a label saying where it comes from: platform documentation, law, an external source or the author’s heuristic. No “average 30% uplift” without evidence.
• The US and Europe side by side. VAT in the price, the EU 30-day prior-price rule and other differences are flagged where they change a decision.
• Ready to implement. Formulas, decision rules, checklists and a plan for the first ninety days.
• No app advertising. Apps are a side topic; most methods run on the platform’s own tools and a spreadsheet.
Which one is for you?
You sell… | Choose |
on Amazon, as a third-party seller or a brand
in your own Shopify store
in both channels | both — each has a chapter on pricing across your sales channels |
If you sell in both channels, the books complement each other: the same logic of price floors, tests and increases, applied in two very different environments.
Both books are available on Amazon now. If you read one, I would be grateful for a review — it is the best way for the book to reach other sellers.
